Not a day goes by without a new teaserAlfa Romeo Tonale be broadcast. Today, however, it’s not a classic Alfa Romeo social media teaser that anticipates the company’s first compact SUV, but a tweet written directly by CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato.
As you can see, this is a photo that shows the Tonale in profile, covered in gray fabric, and the men of the “group” who actively participated in the birth of the long-awaited SUV: Francesco Calcara (marketing ), Daniel Guzzafame (product), Antonio Casarella (production) and Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos (design). A shot that obviously recalls the iconic cover of“Abbey Road“, one of the most famous albums of the Beatles, and which gives – once again – an appointment on February 8, 2022 for the official presentation.
This is what Imparato wrote in his tweet, perhaps in the hope that theAlfa Romeo Tonale becomes the best selling Biscione – and not only – as Abbey Road is for the Liverpool group. All the conditions seem to be met: first, the segment to which it belongs, that of compact SUVs, which is constantly growing and which is one of the most popular in Europe.
It is clear that the perspective does not allow us to grasp the dimensions of the Tonale, but in this case we have the help of the rumors published some time ago, which spoke of a length of 4.53 meters with a wheelbase of 2.64m. Notice the very beautiful classic five-circle rims, the smooth line of the bezel back and the particularly high waistline.

The Stelvio’s little brother will have several options, starting with the inevitable electrification. We know, indeed, that there will be a plug-in hybrid powertrain ( although we don’t yet know its characteristics), flanked in all likelihood by mild-hybridized units.
The puzzle is almost complete
Very clever who knows if the teasers dedicated to the Alfa Romeo Tonale are coming to an end with this tweet or if others are still to come in the coming days. In recent days we have seen thedigital instrumentation with a glimpse of the front seats, the rear lights with the “Veloce” badge indicating one of the available configurations, the steering wheel with the aluminum paddles for the automatic gearbox and – thanks to recent spy photos – the interior of the Tonal.
All that remains is to wait for February 8 and the online presentation.
