After announcing the launch of five trams between 2025 and 2030, Bentley will soon begin testing the first of these models. The design of this brand new model is almost complete and, as the manufacturer guarantees, will be faithful to the brand’s parchments.
O Bentley Bentayga híbrido plug-in was the first Bentley to be electrified, in 2018. Being that, it didn’t take long for other models of the Crewe brand to follow.
In 2020, were finally announced the launch of Crewe’s first all-electric car, an integral part of the Beyond100 sustainability strategy.
However, at a Business Webinar at Coach, Bentley’s CEO revealed that this new model will begin testing later this year. Adrian Hallmark further stated that the exterior design is at 80-85%, leaving the brand to “improve what has already been decided”.
As for the interior, it is at an even more advanced stage and, as is the hallmark of Bentley, will focus on luxury.
The most dynamic ever. Bentley Continental GT Speed now on sale
Hallmark added that the Bentley will not shorten platforms. Even so, a fight for efficiency aerodynamics canresult in Bentleys a little narrower than the current ones.
It is also likely that the grille will be completely closed, for example, thus replicating one of several aesthetic solutions common in today’s trams.
Despite talking about a more aerodynamic model than the current range, the CEO makes it very clear: “will have the look of a Bentley, emanate the sensations of a Bentley and have the performance of a Bentley”.
For different market segments
Bentley also claims to already have designs for the next four trams, which may have different positioning in the market.
Current models are concentrated in a very narrow price range and Hallmark explained that “I liked to go down or up [os patamares de preços], to further explore the potential of the brand”.
This idea suggests that we may have Bentleys that are a little more affordable, but also even more expensive.
Due to state-of-the-art technology and substantial autonomy, this first Crewe-branded tram should be positioned above the current Bentayga.
Price and type of charging to be defined
Regarding the type of bodywork, it is likely to be a SUV, but there are still no certainties.
Bentley is still studying ways of charging that free the user from this task, either by induction or using a robot.
