After, still in 2021, Rolls-Royce made known the most expensive proposal ever made by the Westhampnett brand, behold, a father decided to present his son with a copy of the famous Boat Tail. Although with a particularity: this “Rolls-Royce” was built entirely by himself, in wood, and even circulates!
Truly impressive, this imitation of the hyper-exclusive Rolls-Royce Boat Tail, it is not, however and contrary to what the reader might think, a statue to place in the living room. For, despite being made entirely of wood, the model, not only has virtually everything the original model offers, but is fully functional; even as a means of transportation!
Creation of the YouTube account holder entitled ‘ND – Woodworking Art’, this imitation, in smaller size, of the one-off that cost its owner something like 10.4 million euros, it manages, however, to be – we dare say it… -, to be even more special than the Rolls-Royce model. Not only because of the unique way it was made, but also because of keep virtually all the attributes of the original.
Among these predicates is, for example, the ability to carry two passengers – much tighter, but, anyway… -, with the locomotion to be guaranteed through an electric propulsion system, guaranteed by an electric motor, which, in turn, turns the rear axle by means of a simple chain system.
On the return of the bodies. Rolls-Royce shows off stunning Boat Tail
To accompany this (basic) propulsion system, a steering column allowing the front wheels to be steered, as well as a disc braking system. In this case, applied to rims also made of wood and covered with rubber, as a way of helping to immobilize safely.
Finally and also present in this wooden Boat Tail, whose achievement involved extreme dedication over 68 working days, a fully functional lighting system, both outside and inside, and in either case, perfectly integrated through truly fantastic woodworking. That, let it be said, has not even forgotten the importance of suicide doors, or even the iconic ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’ figurine… also in wood, of course!
For the rest and leaving us, equally, with our jaws dropped, comes the replicate the rear deck which is one of the most distinctive elements on Rolls-Royce’s Boat Tail, and which, in this wooden interpretation, replicates the electric opening system of the two panels that cover the rear. And that, once opened, allow us to foresee a space where there is no lack of “mandatory” accessories for a pic-nic with all the style and class.
In fact, and even so that occupants do not lack protection, in the hottest hours of the day, the Boat Tail in wood, like the original model, has a parasol, also remote opening!
No doubt, a fantastic job… and a video that deserves to be watched until the last second.
